Me and my late night/early morning posts....
Tonight was a good night. Went to see The Bucketlist with Ally, Nick Dietz, Matt Isaacson, Bobby, and...some other guy I didn't really know at all. Then hung out with everyone over at Rob's pad....saw Timmy Tot and damn, was it nice to sit and chat with him. Haven't had too much time to spend with that kiddo as of late, so I'm happy about that. But anyway....here comes a shorthand rundown of my movie criticism: (Come on....if you know ANYthing about me, you know I do this kind of thing...it's the English major in me, I swear..)The Bucketlist. Morgan Freeman's pretty good. Jack Nicholson...pretty good, too. The best way for me to describe this movie is "Short and sweet." And for a movie that's short and sweet....this one did a good job of it. Had a slow start....definately had a slow start. Dialogue was a little.....ehh....cliche? Predictable? I don't know....wasn't too impressed with the script, but the story itself was worthwhile. Like Allison said a few nights ago when we saw the preview: "That's original...they haven't made a movie about THAT yet.." The ending came pretty quick....they definately slapped the conclusion on in about 5 minutes at the end. Which was good...it didn't drag on for much longer, but kind of abrupt in a way? I thought the end line was funny...didn't see that one coming, so that made a better impression. And maybe it's because the actual story of it was touching enough...I got a little teary eyed! Damn movies and their whole "trying to make you feel something" kind of crap. lol Not a bad thing though. So if I had to rate it......eh....C+, B-. (Wow, I'm a nazi about movies...I really am.) lol I think the best movie I've seen this winter break was "Charlie Wilson's War." Maybe it's just because I'm a sucker for Tom Hanks..he's always been a favorite actor of mine. Thought provoking and....damn do they pin some things right on the head. Love it. Okay enough movie review.Leaving for Santa Augustine tomorrow (actually, later today!) And totally looking forward to it. Get up there..unpack.....get re-acquainted with the dorms (even though I'm beyond used to that whole lifestyle...) And then Mr. Joshua is cooking up some dinner for us. Word on the street is chicken, shrimp and alfredo something or other, with some garlic bread and wine.....and then dessert, but I haven't had a chance to eavesdrop enough to find out the details of that. Originally thinking the Chianti Room for le diner, mais c'est bon that he insists on cooking. Looking forward to it. "Little black dress" attire might still be a go. :DGriff should also be coming into town sometime tomorrow as well.....AWESOME!!! If there was ever a cool freshman, Griffith Ann Egan would take the cake...and eat it too."Let them eat cake!" I don't know why I love that silly quote so much.Alright....it's safe to say this LJ entry is quickly falling apart. Not sure if there was much substance to begin with, but that's what happens at 4am after a few shots of good ol' (disgusting) Jackie D. Blegh! :DTootles! Source
